Can I have EEA RC in 2 passports of 2 different countries?

Hi,

I am a dual national of 2 countries (Georgia & Armenia). I have been in the UK since 2007 on an EEA RC placed in my G passport. The G passport expired and I got a new one from the Embassy of Georgia in London.

Now, I will be sending my new G passport + supporting docs to get the EEA2 stamped into that one, however, could I also send my Armenian passport to get the second RC stamped in it simultaneously?

The RC is just a confirmation of my right, derived from my EEA Family Member and the UKBA cannot make a fuss out of it. But still, it sounds that they might find it complicated as on the EEA2 form, where it says "Nationality" I can't really insert both G&A, can I?

Finally, I am hoping to go through the Naturalisation process at the end of 5+1 years in the UK, would my already dual nationality affect the British in any way?

Britain allows dual nationality, does it strictly mean "DUAL" & will I have to renounce one of the currently held two, or does dual simply mean "more than one", so I could have 3 nationalities in the end?

The UK allows multiple nationality so you can keep your G & A and also acquire BC.

As for two RCs in two diff. passports I do not see why not but suspect that the UKBA may ask questions.

Thanks for the reply. I also think that in theory there is no reason why not, but have a gut feeling it may cost me a few nerve cells

The reason why I need the RC in the Armenian passport is that if I wanted to go directly to Russia from London to visit friends etc, I'd need to show both passports. The Russians, after the war with Georgia in 2008, will be extremely picky, to say the least. Thus, if I get the RC in the Armenian passport, I would avoid showing my Georgian one.

Thanks again for the reply, I don't know if I should simply send the Armenian passport on its own and a copy of my previous RC from the Georgian passport and explain that I have two nationalities and so on, this may avoid the Qs I could get if I send both at the same time.

I would definitely apply for the Residence Card in both passports. Good to be the first! I can not see any reason they could refuse to do it.

Worst case they will make you submit two application forms at the same time.

Hi you don’t have to submit any of those passport to get you residence transferred to the new passport. You need to use the expired that has the RC on it and use the New One, that mean you travel using your both passport Expired and the new one.


I used to travel with the passport my last trip was last June, show the old one and entrance stamp on the new one.

You can still submit the G and ARM passports on 2 applications but you know the timing will be up to 6 months,
