APPLYING FOR BC FOLLOWING APPROVA OF ILR

Post by blobulus » Tue Nov 02, 2010 5:33 pm

hi,

just wanted to know when I can apply for British Citizenship, my time line is as below,
March 2006 - came to uk on a work permit
April 2008- got married in the uk to a british person
10 Dec 2008- changed to being a dependent on my spouse and got my 2 year leave to remain
nov 2010- will get my Indefinite leave to remain

11 Dec 2010 - I will have been in the UK for 3 years + as a resident and free of immigration control and approximately 2.5 since my marriage, can i apply for british citizenship on the 11 Dec 2010 or have to wait for April 2011 when it will be 3 years to my marriage?

Thanks in advance guys !

Doesn't make sense!

Assuming you'll be applying for settlement under SET(M), you may apply for naturalisation any moment after you are granted settlement - if you have been resident in the UK since March 2006.

THANX FOR YOUR REPLY, JUST WISHED TO CLARIFY WETHER ITS 3 YEAR POST MARRIAGE OR 3 YEARS RESIDENCE , SO LOOKS LIKE I WILL APPLY FOR NATURALIZATION AS SOON AS I GET MY INDEFINITE LEAVE TO REMAIN.
