Finally BC Approval - Yeppeeee

Post by K2004 » Fri Feb 03, 2006 11:03 pm

Hello all, I have been waiting for almost 3 months, and after applying through NCS on 8/11/05, and after receiving the mysterious CT1 Character enquiries letter, I have received today the approval... i have to be honest , I was expecting a cheap brown envelope letter, with home office logo, but the approval letter looked more like a glossy junk mail....

I am wondering about one thing: I have received yesterday an unusal letter from the council yesterday saying that they have no record of registered voters in my address, and i will be fined if i am not telling the truth, but the letter was addressed to the occupier. do you think it was a coincidence or it is related to my approval?

for my application details , please check the sticky Timeline post.

thank you everyone.

Congratuations!

And the other was a coincidence. Do the ceremony, become official, and stop being paranoid. (And you should probably register to vote; it's one of the privileges/obligations of the BC).

Firstly, congratulations on getting the "application successful" letter. Enjoy your Citizenship Ceremony.

As regards the letter, I would say that is a total coincidence! And of course if there is no one in the place eligible to vote then the Council's records would be correct. So unless you are a Commonwealth Citizen, or a citizen of another EU state, you are not currently eligible to be on the UK's Electoral Register.

As soon as you are British .... the instant you get handed your Certificate of Naturalisation at your Citizenship Ceremony ... you will be eligible to be registered as a voter, and indeed you should do that shortly after the ceremony.

Indeed i will fill the Voter Registration Form and take it with me to the ceremony, as it is in the same building ...i need to be on the register, as I want the creditors to be happy when i apply for a Mortgage or a loan for a new car...
