Hi
I entered UK in 2003 and completed my university course in 206. i was then offered a job in 2007 by one of the big 4 accounting firms a a trainee accountant where i undertook ACA. Now that I am a qualifed chartered accountant, I would like to switch jobs. i was under the old work permit scheme. Do I need to switch my visa to a tier 2 visa and would my new employer need to apply for that.
The reason i am asking that, is because by reading UKBS's webite (refer to the link below) there is a mention of
(Source : http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... ual-limits)
Tier 2
The Tier 2 (General) route will be subject to a limit of 20,700 places for 2011/12.
This limit will not apply to:
â– in-country applications from those already in the UK;
â– dependants of Tier 2 migrants;
■Tier 2 (General) applicants who are filling a vacancy with a salary of more than £150,000;
â– Tier 2 (Sportsperson) applicants;
â– Tier 2 (Minister of religion) applicants; and
â– Tier 2 (Intra company transfer) applicants.
i wanted to get moe clarification of the first bullet point which tates that in-country applications fom those within the UK will not be ubject to the cap. Does anyone know what that means.
Secondly, if i switch jobs would i still need my new employer to apply fo a wok permit and if so would i be using this cap then.
Thirdly, am i still oncourse to apply for ILR in 2012, once i have completed by 5 years?
