ILR- SET M - Documents - Evidence of cohabitation

Post by am2999 » Mon Nov 29, 2010 7:12 pm

Hi everyone,
My wife is about to apply for ILR after 2 years here but we have some concerns about the documents we require to show that we have been living together for all that time.

We have virtually no letters or documents in joint names (except a joint savings account opened very recently) as all the bills, etc are in my name and we saw no reason to change this (I only recently found we needed documents in joint names otherwise of course we would have put them in joint names!). We do have more than enough letters in our own individual names covering the period though...both showing the same address and from different sources. Does anyone else have experience of successful applications without any documents in joint names or does anyone think this will matter?

Any help or advice will be gratefully accepted. Thanks in anticipation.

Best regards,
Andrew and Roseane

No problem. It would be a good idea to include extra documents to the 6 requested as they're in single names especially if you're applying in person.
Apart from that...it won't affect the application.
