Certificate of Approval - Info needed

Post by warren » Fri Dec 03, 2010 2:25 pm

Hi all, I would like to know how long people have been waiting for their COA and How long it took others. We have been told that there is a back log of cases and we will have to wait for cases to be dealt with in chronological order. But HRY2005 inform me his case was dealt with from MAY 2010 to August 2010. We put our application in MARCH 2010 and are still waiting. I have had MP involved and UKBA wrote to him saying there is back log etc.

Would be appreciative of as much info as possible as want to know if UKBA are lying to an MP.

AS it appears this UKBA service is "Not fit for purpose"

Thanks

Warren

There isn't an office out there in UKBA land with a large stack of COA applications waiting for people to pick off the top and complete it all in one day ... they will be divided up among separate groups ... or separate offices even ...

You'll then find that an application that involves more information gathering might get put to one side while the info is requested ... then it'll come back and go back in the pile for re-inspection ... and that process might well be repeated ....

Then you'll find those that need review go in a separate pile for the supervisor to look at ... and that'll have its own queue.

So the experience of HRY2005 who got theirs in 4 months doesn't mean that yours isn't being processed in the right order, it just means it's taking longer.

For example - my wife's citizenship application was dealt with very quickly (4-ish weeks if I remember) because it was straightforward ... others take months ...
