question on previous earning VAF9

Hi All,

I have a question on behalf of my friend, He is in contractual work for the last 3 years (3 month rolling contract), he have the following earning pattren and i was woundering if he can claim for the last 12 month or have to claim for last 3 months only ?

Jan = Amount X
Feb = Amount X
Mar = Amount X
Apr = Nill (Unpaid holidays)
May = Amount X
Jun = Amount X
July = Amount X
Aug = Nill (Unpaid Holidays).

I was also woundering if anyone here on this forum have been in similar situation and what earning period they have claimed 12 month or last 3 month ? if 12 month has they been successfull (ofcourse with right evidence).
