Does new Tier1(G) rules affect on existing Tier1(G)Migrants?

Post by tsadeel79 » Thu Dec 23, 2010 3:35 pm

Hi All,
I have just read the sad news that Tier 1 (G) for overseas applicants is closing from today for ever and remain until 5th April 2011 for UK applicants.

I need to know about what will happen for existing migrants who already on Tier 1 (G). Will it effect on existing migrants?

I am on Tier 1 (G) and my extension is due in 2012. What will happen with extension?? Will this rule cause any problem for Tier 1 (G) migrants extensions??

Please Advice.

Cheers...

If you have valid point to extend, then you might be safe I guess.

I see lot many people are worried about the extension part. But I do not think it's going to be an issue for 2 reasons

1. They gave you the migrant visa so that ultimately you become a highly skilled British citizen contributing to the country. If they don't allow you to extent then what is the point in giving the visa initially?
2. Extending the visa does not increase the number of immigrants as they are already there.
