Switching from student visa to spouse visa advice please :((

Post by bunny21487 » Sun Dec 26, 2010 8:55 pm

Hi, Im a postgrad student from Vietnam. Have been in the UK for 5 years and currently doing a Ma degree in UK and visa will be expired at the end of November 2011 so I have about 11 months from now on till the expiry date. However, I want to stay in UK with my boyfriend who is British and he is also a student. We have been with each other for almost 3 years and lived together for about 7 months so far. We are thinking of applying for spouse visa so that we can stay together.

The problem is that we are both students and we are worried about the 'sufficient funds' mentioned on UKBA website. I'm not worried about getting a job after finishing my MA degree but until that time, i still have to depend on my saving money and my parents'. Im planning to get COA soon but still worried about the sufficient funds when we apply for the spousal visa once COA have been received :((. As my bf cant be my sponsor since he is on student loan, will it be ok if the sponsors are our parents?

I will be grateful if someone can give me some advice.

San.
