Everything looks fine. Bank statement is stamped and signed and still under one month old even if they count it on the receiving date i.e. 5th Jan'11.

Visa applications submission counts from the date on which application post-marked and you got your application post-marked on 31st Dec'10. I cant see any problem on submission date and bank statement issues.

Also, as you said that UKBA debit the processing fee today so it mean your application is in UKBA normal process!

So, in my opinion, there is nothing to worry about unless they comes up with some issue.

Best of luck!

I think everything will be fine.

And let me clear you did not submit late application. If you submit it on the day your visa expired its ON TIME. And the required bank statment must be under 30 days old from the date of application and you submit 26 days old bank statement so again you are not in violation of any rule.

And why you have so doubtful about the success of your application? Did you do anything wrong? So if you did, your application may be rejected.
