Extension of Mother's Dependent Visa

Post by Troops » Mon Jan 10, 2011 11:41 am

Hi,

I came to the UK in 2005. Later my wife and my Mother joined me on a dependent visa. My mother got a dependent visa as she is a widowed and dependent upon me. She was with us in the UK for almost three years and went back to India in 2008. My wife and I got PR in July 2010. Now my mother wants to come to the UK but her Visa has expired in August 2010. I want to re apply for her visa but confused as to what Visa should I apply for ? I can’t apply for her ILR as she is under 65 and will not be able to pass the LINT UK test. I am not sure if I can again apply for a dependent visa as we have got our ILR. I went through the UKBA website and I can apply for a long term (2 yrs, 5 yrs) family visa but again her continuous stay will be limited to a maximum of 6 months at a time. Is anyone aware of a family visa which will not restrict her stay or should I apply for her dependent visa again?

Please can the boarders guide me on this?
