Set(m) visa appointment does my child need to attend?

I've booked an in-person appointment to apply for my settlement visa (currently on a marraige visa. I'm including my 6 year old son (who is american) as a dependent on my application. Does he need to attend the appointment as well? And if so do I have to register him on the online booking system or it like my husband who just comes with?
