Switching to Tier 1 (G) - Need help

Post by vicky1982 » Mon Feb 14, 2011 1:47 pm

Hi,
My wife is on Tier 2(ICT) Visa and I am on Tier 2(ICT) dependent Visa. We are going apply for a switch to Tier 1(G) for my wife and Tier 1(G) dependent for me. We have an appointment at the Sheffield PEO in March. I have few questions

1. Though I have been on a Tier 2 dependent visa from Oct 2010 I have mostly stayed in India. I have been in the Uk for 3 weeks in Jan. Currently I am in India and will be going to UK in March few days before that appointment. Do you see any issue arising coz of this ?

2. Also there is a confusion when it come to our Address in India.

My wife's passport has her permanent address. I have my permanent address in my passport. The HDFC bank statement of my wife has my passport address. Prior to the Tier 2 stamping we stayed in an address that is different from both of our permanent addresses which was given in our tier2 application. And the latest address is the UK address.

It there any issue here considering our passport addresses are different, wife's bank statement having my permanent address and last 2 year stay in India in a new different address?

3. My wife Employers have given the payslips with stamp and sign on it but in the Employee name section they have mentioned "Miss XXXXXX" instead of "Mrs XXXXXX". Not sure if we get this corrected since this is a PDF file generated every month end and now cannot be edited. We it create any problems? if so any solutions?

Thanks in advance!!

I understand, a Tier2 ICT dependent can not switch into Tier1 Dependent in in-country (UK) application. You should first let your wife to switch into Tier1 and then later your apply for Tier1 dependent in India.

No problem with different address.

'Mrs and Mr' - you will have to explain this in your covering letter. I hope HO will not be finicky here. In doubt, they can verify by calling your employer.

1. No, there is no problem in that.

2.different addresses in passport is no problem. I had a similar case vv where my wife was dependent and had a different address on her passport compared to mine. WRT, different addresses on your Statement, I suggest you still have enough time to get this corrected and reorder it as a bunch and it will have your right address details, just to be on safer side.

3. I suggest, EITHER A- you prepare a letter explaining this and take this with you when you go for Visa purpose OR B (more credible) Get a letter from her employer to clarify that and take it with you when going for Visa.

Hope this helps :) and Good Luck
