Hi, If anybody could advice me on what should I do in my situation.
I have a dependent visa from my husband who has got work permit visa and works in Glasgow at the moment. We have lived here together for more than 2 years and during this period he was abusing me (physically and emotionally) and was also manipulating me as he knew I could not leave him because of my visa status. However, I am in a stage when I had enough of these and I don't want to depend on him anymore. I am looking for the ways to become independent and stay in UK legally as have nowhere else to go.
Will appreciate any help.

Unless you qualify to remain here in your own right you would need to return home if you are no longer living with your husband.

I m from Ukraine. We do not have chieldren. I work here. I have nothing in my Country - no home, ho job, no good friends. UK is my home now ! All my friends are here, my life is here !

However, that relates to partners of people settled here, and it seems your husband is only here on a work permit. There is a helpline number for cases in Scotland, and you would be best to talk to an advisor first.

I think the standard reply from UKBA will be that you are only in the UK on a temporary basis, therefore if you are no longer together with your sponsor it is reasonable to expect you to return to your own country.
