HELP! Negligent Lawyer

Post by Amosh » Mon Mar 07, 2011 9:49 am

Hi guys,

I'd really appreciate your thoughts on this. I have a friend up in Scotland who was trying to get papers after 10 year residency. She engages a solicitor and after 2 years she has just learnt that her application has been denied without right of appeal and that she will have to leave the country!

She strongly believes that the solicitor did not present to the court documents that could have helped her case.

What can she do now to stop the deportation? If, in fact it is her solicitors fault, can she try to get the court to hear her case again on the grounds that her solicitor did not present all the facts to the court?

Many thanks and I really appreciate your feedback!
