PSW Visa - Length

Post by coco__nutty » Fri Mar 18, 2011 1:53 pm

Hello!

I applied for my PSW visa at the end of October 2010, beginning of January I received a refusal due to the University not specifying date of my graduation (letter was submitted instead of my degree certificate, which I was waiting for at the time and wouldn't have been issued before my visa expired).

I appealed and attended my oral hearing beginning of March.
Yesterday I received a letter saying my appeal was granted and, unless HO appeal Tribunal's decision, I should be expecting a letter with a request to send in my passport for a visa stamp.

All ended well then...
I am just wondering, how long is this visa issued for? Most articles I've read, state 'maximum of/up to 2 years', however, some places are saying 2 years...
Does anyone know how long you should expect to get it for and what does the term depend on?

Thank You!

Hiya

I really doubt they will, as then it would be ridiculous.

I sent away my bank statements, which are from my savings account, carrying WELL in excess of £800 for the last 3 months (I showed bank statements for the last 7 at the hearing, with the amount only going up)
I received my Masters Degree Certificate post-application and showed it at the hearing.

An HO representative attended the trial (I heard, this is not very usual, guess, I got 'lucky' :) and she asked really weird questions, was aggressive and at times wrong, which was pointed out by the judge).
So i really don't see what they could be unhappy about, although, of course I understand what you are saying...

Fingers crossed they don't appeal!
And if they do, that would raise some serious questions for me as to how in the world there are so many people here illegaly and overstaying visas, if they are so demanding and paying such close attention to detail with people who have every legitimate right to stay here!

However, on the initial subject, do you know how long you get on the PSW visa?

Thanks
