PSW for tier 2 holder

Post by turjo » Fri Mar 25, 2011 3:09 pm

Hi

I've been awarded a phd degree on 30 Nov 2010. However, i started my current job on 1 Sept 2010 and my employer arranged the tier 2 visa for me which is due to finish in August 2011.
Under this circumstance, am i eligible to apply for PSW? I would be very greatful if anyone can clarify this to me? According to UKBA website, it seems only students are allowed to apply for PSW?

Provided you have never been granted leave as Tier 1 (PSW) before (or its predecessors like IGS etc.), you may apply for Tier 1 (PSW) but this will need to be done from outside the UK (i.e. - entry clearance required).
