Tier-1 extension -age points and dependant's eligibility

Post by abhavsar » Tue Mar 29, 2011 2:05 pm

Hi all,

This is first time I am using this board, since when in confusion I observed lot of people like me have received good guidance from here, please respond to my following queries

1. I am currently in UK under Tier-1 (general) granted date of application May2010, now for extension, points for my age will be those at the time of initial application or at the time of date of extension application. This makes a huge difference 10 points to meet the 75 limit in my case so please guide.

2. With new rule of dependant's english test, when we applied there was no such thing, would it be needed for our extension that my partner has to give the test? our renewal will be in 2012

3. I have not received any letter of approval with my initial application just stamp on our passports, is that what everyone has? this I am asking since i need to show proof of approval for my parents visit.

Kindly please guide it will be greatly valuable.

See points for age - initial vs extension

See Guidance - Tier 1 (General) Dependent application for rules that apply presently.

No one can tell you today if there will be any changes to the rules between now and when your current leave expires (2012).

Well I understand your point but my main concern is let's say in today's date if someone is applying for extension and the points that he/she claims for age should be same as claimed in initial application or according to what the person's age is now?

Different age (because they will obviously be older), but the same points.
E.g. the points at extension + 2 years = same as points at new
application. So if you are 30 when you apply, you will get the same points if you are 32 when you extend, or 34 and 36 or 29 and 31 and so on and so on.
