Tier1 Extension: Previous Earnings

Post by HSMP_Sanjeev » Tue Apr 05, 2011 9:42 am

Dear All,

I tried to look into the forum to find the answer for this and could not find the same. Also looked into UKBA site and not convinced (especially the term 'uplift ratio'). Hence raising the question regarding the extension of Tier 1 General.

Can we calim the earnings from other country to claim the points for 'Previous Earnings'. For example:

1. 01.10.2010 to 01.07.2011 - Worked in another country not in UK) and earnings equals to 20K GBP
2. 02.07.2011 to 01.02.2012 - Worked in UK and earnings equals to 20K GBP

So the total earnings for the period : 40K GBP

When filing for extension, can I claim my previous earnings from another country?

Thanks for the help
Regards,
Sanjeev

Hi ,

This is really not as simple as stated

Kindly write what is your current visa status in UK and if it's TIER1/HSMP /PSW , you must have a solid contract from UK company to assign you on an overseas job .

Salary from the overseas work must come in your UK account with all PAYE/NI paid than you can say ( 20+20 = 40K)

Thanks

Hi Ali,

Thanks for the reply. I will clarify again.
- The visa type is Tier 1 General
- Worked in another country for 6 months (not deputed from UK and salary is not credited to UK bank account)
- Entered UK and Worked in UK for about 6 months (at the time of extension)

So when filing for extension, can I club both the earnings (UK + Overseas) to calim the points. When I calcualte the points using the point calcualtor, it is absolutely fine. It considers both the earnings. But I have seen a note on the same thing that the 'Uplift ratio'(for overseas earnings) may not be applied for extension.

Thats why the question. Can you please help

Thanks
Regards,
Sanjeev
