Documnets needed for hearing?

Post by mazhar rehman » Sat Apr 08, 2006 3:47 pm

Hi all

I am new on this website but from i have read u guys seem great.

My situation is that I have applied for a visa for my wife, the original application was rejected on the grounds that I was living with my parents and for some reason they thought that I would not live with my wife once she came over.

Any way I made an appeal, which I now realise was maybe not the right thing to do. I provided some additional proofs, things like my phone bills, showing the calls that i make to my wife, I rented a property and also started my own business of which iam 50% partner. The appeal was rejected in PAKISTAN and now I have a hearing on the 8th Of May 2006.

What I would like to know is what I can provide to the appeals tribunal at my hearing as they have asked for any paperwork that I will be relying on to be sent to them. Can anybody advice me on what is the best course of action to take, and what documents I can provide.

I have already asked my accountant to provide me with a copy of the annual returns as they will show how the business is doing and will also show that I am 50% in the business.

Is there anything else that I can provide which may be of help

Many thanks in advance

Can you be more specific about the grounds for rejection? What you have posted does not sound "quite right"!. It they say that the accommodation would be overcrowded? Or what?

They said that they dont beleive that there is suffiecent accomodation, and when I made the appeal and notified them that I had actualy rented a property, they ended disputing that and said that they were concerned about how I wold afford to pay the rent even though I provided evidence showing that I have my own business and provided proof that the business is turning over at £28000 per calendar month. So I am confused myself.

I am in process of buying my own property at the moment, but I cant even show that until it goes through.

Any proof of the profit being made by the business? By itself the turnover figure is pretty useless. It might mean you are making £20000 profit per month, or alternatively £500 profit per month, or even a loss.

And you say 50% partner. It is a partnership? Or you have a 50% shareholding in a limited company? What would give you distinctly different rights, and possible income.
