Tier 1 General Holder

Post by abc111 » Thu Apr 14, 2011 2:58 pm

Hi,

I am a Tier1 (G) holder and due for extension. I have a question: if my baby is born within UK then what would be different if baby was born outside the UK in my native country.

Just to take advantage of the message:
1.0 According to new rules laid out on 6th April 2011, main changes are that an employment status will be required to be shown, which is minimum equivalent to one, original Tier 1 (G) application was approved for -is that correct?
2.0 Can Tier 1 (G) holder can travel outside UK in some other non-native countries (for holidays etc) while being within 3 months annual limit?

Thanks

Under current rules:
Child born in the UK will be entitled to register as a British citizen after either parent is granted settlement.
Child born outside the UK is not entitled to registration as British citizen but such application is subject to discretion, and such application can only be made at the same time as either parent's naturalisation application (or after).

No one can tell you today whether these rules will remain or change when the time comes for you to make use of these rules.
Life isn't fair, but you can be!

If baby is born in the UK before the settlement is granted then will I need to get a Tier 1 dependant visa for him? Will visa be required if baby is born outside the UK?

Thanks

Child born in the UK does not need visa unless traveling outside. Child born outside UK needs visa before coming to UK

Regarding holidays, Yes you can travel anywhere.
Goodluck.
