Visit (Tourist) Visa - 10years visa possible?

I did not find a sector for Visit visa so I am posting here.

If the passport is only 4 years valid, can I still apply for 5yrs or 10years visit visa?

If the son (EEA National) lives and works in the UK, are there higher chances (for parents) to get a longer tourist visa?

Only if they have travelled a few times to the UK before, have strong reasons to be coming and going (e.g. a fully settled relative - having PR would help) and strong ties back to their home country.
