Like anyone else granted ILR, a person who successfully applies under the domestic violence rule will have recourse to public funds. So therefore, after she has left her violent husband and been granted ILR, if she qualifes for benefits due to her low income then she will be entitled to claim them. She may also be able to access social housing and may be treated as a priority in this regard if she is homeless and considered a vulnerable person.
Don't forget though that in the UK there is such a thing as 'spousal maintenance' and a requirement that both parties are left on an equal footing following a divorce and therefore if this woman has no qualifcations, doesn't work and can't support herself, her husband, if he has the means to do so, may be expected to pay her maintenance until she can, or in some circumstances, for life.
(N.B. I am referring to a female victim of domestic violence here, but note it would equally apply to males).
P.s. Surely this has got to be a record for posts on the same topic by one person?
