Process for Applying Variation of leave

Hi,

I have read the section 5 of the IDI. It states that when the section 5C leave is in process or triggred. one can apply for variation of leave.

Can anyone tells me the process of applying for that leave? Because, it says on the relevant form.

I suppose if some one has already applied for extension and his ILR date comes during section 5C leave. He can apply for varation of leave, before the decision on the already submitted application for extension.

Do he have to fill in the SET(O) form, attach photograph for the complete family . Leave the fees section empty and attach a cover letter with the application forms that these forms should be replaced with the extension forms.

I think since the fees for extension application for Tier 1 general is higher so he do not have to pay for the fees. Just attach the Life in the UK test result and send it for their attention.

Are they going to send an acknowlegdment stating the confirmation of receipt of SET(O) form and changing the application ILR application from extension.

Seniors please advise on this.
