Sponsor licence apps take about 6 weeks on average in my experience (around 100 apps assisted). Can take longer if you're in an area where the visiting officers have a backlog or are short-staffed. If they don't do a site visit it can be quicker than 6 weeks. If the company has a very strong case for expediting the application they need to make it clear to the UKBA or it just goes in a pile and waits to see the light of day again. The UKBA can be flexible when they want to.

Hi,

My company is in the process of applying for sponsorship license too and as my visa expires in 4 months, I am a bit worried that we would not get the sponsorship in time.

When you say make it clear to the UKBA for expediting the application do you mean an opening letter to go with the application? I always thought that UKBA officers tend to disregard this - an i'm assuming ALL of sponsorship license applicants would like a decision asap.

thnx

Hi all,
home office said my employer applicantions need more document and now need to re-apply for it.
but, as my visa is expiring i will need to send the application without the certificate of sponsorship number.
just wondering if you guys know if i will to be rejected, how long do i have to prepare to go home? 1 week? 2 weeks? will i become overstayer?
also, i would be appreciated if you guys know situation of anyone who submit without sponsorship number and will they be given chance to supply the sponsorship number later on. :(
thanks a lot

I'm in the same boat as you. They will always find a lame excuse to reject you. Our application was rejected twice and they will tell you only one problem and when you send it again they pick the 2nd error.. They just don't care. Even after 6 weeks wait they will come for a Pre-visit and if they're not happy with stuff (HR policy and stuff) they wont give u the license.

It's just ridiculous.. The whole thing is a big joke
