Can Tier 1 dependent enter UK with a job?

Post by arts22 » Fri May 13, 2011 7:33 pm

Hello,
I had a question regarding dependent visas.
I have the Tier 1 general migrant visa and since my husband didnt satisfy the points requirement, we got his Tier 1 dependent visa. His company is trying to get him transferred from the US office to their UK office. Now, my question is, will he be allowed to enter the UK on this dependent visa with me even though he will be working in a UK office? Or is this not allowed?
Thank you.

Dependants are allowed to work.

Thanks for your quick response!
My only doubt is that as per the UK gov website - they have specified that dependent children have entry restricitons - "If your dependent child is working full-time or earning enough money to support himself/herself, it is unlikely that he/she will qualify for entry to the UK as a dependant."

So I was wondering if this applies to a spouse as well.

Since my husband will be transferring to the same company's UK office, he is technically "working".

Thoughts?
