UKM Citizenship application form questions - confused!

Post by jrad » Fri May 13, 2011 11:11 pm

Hi all,

I have a few questions about the UKM form which I am hoping someone on here can help me clear up. I am applying from New Zealand.

On the very first page (Customise this form) it asks if I want the citizenship ceremony in another authority. After choosing "yes" when I get to section 3 "Your Citizenship Ceremony Details" it asks for Local Authority Name for where I would like the ceremony to take place. Should I just put the city I live in? There is no option for Country on this page and the post code is asking for a UK format... :?

In the first section "Your details" it asks for a National Insurance Number - should I leave this blank?

In section 3 (your fathers details) it asks "Was citizenship of the United Kingdom and colonies acquired through naturalisation or registration? *" When I select NO it then shows a box saying "How was it acquired" Should I just put "No UK Citizenship"?

My mothers citizenship was through marriage, for this question: "Was citizenship of the United Kingdom and colonies acquired through naturalisation or registration? *" Should I answer yes here? I am not sure what marriage is in terms of acquisition method... If I answer yes would the date when citizenship was granted be when her UK passport was issued? And the Citizenship reference number her passport number?

I don't have all details about mums parents like date of birth and where they were born. Is it ok to leave this blank? I have put NO UK CITIZENSHIP in the question about how citizenship was acquired.

Thank you to anyone who is able to help me with this!!

Regards
James
