joint account maintenance funds

Post by JESSIES » Mon Jun 13, 2011 6:40 am

Hi

I noted on the UKBA Tier 1 extension guidance, it stated that I can use joint statements to prove my maintenance funds. I will be renewing my own teier visa (without any dependents) shortly. Can I still use the joint bank account or is it only for people who apply with their dependents

thanks

Yes. You will need declaration also as in form:

"If the account with the bank or utility company is in the joint names of the applicant and other people, each of those others should sign the following declaration :"

Yes, you can definitely use joint account to show the funds.

As said above, you'll need a declaration from your joint account holder that he/she is happy to give their concent for you to use the account as well as carry out any check by UKBA.

I haven't gone through the application form, but this declaration would be part of the application form in the last few pages, where you just fill up the provided boxes.

Regards
