Spousal visa

Post by Onlyme » Thu Jun 16, 2011 10:51 pm

Hi everyone,

This is my very first post. I have searched online and on the UKBA site, etc. but haven't found an answer to this question. I'm hoping maybe someone on here would be able to help.

As a UK citizen with a fiance from another country; if I were to go and work in a totally different country for a year, got married at the end of that year and then came back to the UK, would that affect my spouse being able to join me here? (because I've not been in the country for the year).

No effect, she may apply for a spouse visa after marriage.

Moreover, if you worked in an EEA country, then your wife would also have a choice of applying for an EEA family permit under the EEA regulations.

No it will have no effect whatsoever.Obviously on your return back to UK, you will need to prove that you are able to support, maintain and accommodate your spouse. This will mean that you will have to find a job, have some savings your bank, and a place where you and your spouse can live exclusively. You working abroad for any length of time prior to your spouse applying will have no detrimental effect....so dont worry about it
