US Restraining orders-will it effect my Visa application?

Post by ab83 » Fri Jun 17, 2011 9:12 am

Hello,

I went through a messy separation where both my partner and I threatened each other with restraining orders. While neither of us have gone through with it, he is extremely volatile and I wouldn't be surprised if he went through with it.
Anyways, long story short--should this happen, will it effect my ability to get a Student Visa for the UK? I will be studying for my master's in London. After that, I will probably apply for a post-study work visa. Should neither of these become a possibility, I may be eligible for a freelance (artist) visa and I am a freelance painter with a steady income.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you!
