UK student visa maintaining funds with a friend?

Post by Malinga1990 » Fri Jun 17, 2011 3:08 pm

Hope you all doing fine. :)
Well, I am hoping to immigrate to UK for my bachelors degree in coming September and I got an unconditional offer and also I've been worrying about new rules which effects from 4th of July.
Since I my parents can't maintain that much funds for me, (I am gonna do medical physics)I am gonna maintain my funds for tuition fees and living cost for the first year as a joint account holder with a friend of my mom.
Do authorities accept this?
One of the new rule is what most frightened me which is ''ensure that maintenance funds are genuinely available to the applicant, by introducing a declaration on the visa application form;''
Will I consider as a ''high risk student''? And what if I cancel my joint account with my mom's friend after getting the visa?
Please help with this issue.
Thanks.
