visitor visa and then dependent visa for my wife

Post by Prakash_Jeyaprakash » Sun Jun 19, 2011 11:20 am

Hi There,

I have a question regarding getting my wife to uk.

I am getting married this sept, and i know i have to maintain funds to apply for dependent visa. Suppose i couldnt maintain funds due to some xyz reason

can i get my wife on a visitor visa?

Lets say i get her to uk in visitor visa after which i maintain funds for three months, then we go back to india and can i apply for dependant visa immediately? or is there any wait period that sates if she has already entered uk using visitor visa, she cannot apply for dependent for a certain period of time?

Hope i was clear in my question.
Please advice me on this.

Thanks Vinny.
I take that 'possible' as ' it is possible to apply for dependent visa after we return back to india after three months'

Possible as long as you and she meet the requirements of the applications.

Hi,

It's definately possible provided you submit all relevant documents. I am on a Tier 1 but prior to moving there premanently, I wanted to take my dependants for a visit. Their visitor application was approved, visited for a month and now we're going to file for their dependant visa (from home country).

All the best mate.
