Returning to the UK after 31 Years - Minimum Financial Needs

Post by Radionics » Tue Jul 12, 2011 3:52 pm

I am a British Citizen who left the UK in 1980 to work in Norway and I am returning soon to the UK with my Thai Wife (age 42) for last 6 years (we live in Thailand now). I am 57 and I will get my Pension from Norway when I am 62 in 5 years time approx 1200 GBP after tax per month. I have approximately 140000 GBP in savings of which I need to buy a House, Car and Furniture also live on until I am 62 and get my Pension. My Question is regarding my wife's Settlement Visa Application; what is the minimum amount that the Immigration Department will accept for two adults to live in the UK per Month. I have seen houses, and Retirement Flats in East Anglia from 60K to 100k in East Anglia that would be suitable. We have had three Holidays in the UK one just recently and we know that we would manage well on 200GBP per week (House, Car & Furniture Paid Cash).
Many thanks in advance for any information.

More Questions Re Returning to the UK after 31 Years........

Post by Radionics » Thu Jul 21, 2011 10:36 am

Many thanks Vinny for your help and provided Links. I am still unsure if they will accept us both living soley on my savings only for approx 4.5 years until I get my Pension when I am 62, 300 GBP per week after tax. We will own our own house and we will have approx 250 GBP per week to live on until I get my Pension. I also plan to start a Radionics Healing Practice and Company however income from this is not included here. My wife can also work in the UK and this is also not included here.
Can you please try without obligation of course advise if they will accept savings only until aged 62 when my Overseas Pension starts.
Many thanks in advance for any help.
