can i have 2 visas

Post by Hand » Tue Jul 19, 2011 3:27 pm

I currently on Tier 1 visa and looking to extend it in 10 months time. I also looking to apply for UK Unmarried Partner Visa because my girlfriend is British and we been together for nearly 3 years.

My question is can I apply for UK Unmarried Partner Visa now and also apply for Tier 1 Extension later in the next 10 months?

Thank you,

Han

What would the point be of the second visa?

And no, you cannot - your first one will be cancelled if the other one is granted AFAIK.

applying for further leave to remain as an unmarried spouse will invalidate your tier 1 general visa and you won't be able to apply under tier 1 general again as the route is closed

I echo mulderpf's question - why would you want to extend your tier 1 gen visa anyway if you have switched into the unmarried partner category?

Tier 1 is a better visa in general. Why would you want to switch Visa if you can extend Tier 1?
