URGENT: Unmarried partner

Post by getaway » Sun Jun 04, 2006 4:51 pm

Hello everybody,

I'm getting 65 points by my own and I'M NOT going to claim for any extra points in a Partner's Achievements section for my unmarried partner.
The question is: do I have to fill out this section of HSMP application at all in order to allow her to apply then for a Entry Clearance as my dependant in a case of my HSMP application approval?

If not, does it mean the whole responsibility of getting her a HSMP-dependant visa/status is moving to the EC processing phase?

HSMP Guidance refers to the Paragraph 295J of the Immigration Rules that claims 2 years subsisted relationships as a requirement for leave to enter or remain as the unmarried partner. So, then in the Embassy I will just have to prove that 2 years (with same evidences HSMP suggests) and she will be able to go with me - am I right?

Or, is it better just to get officially married upon receiving the HSMP approval and get rid of any extra headache with the Embassy? - I assume they don't have that "2 years" rule in a EC processing for legal spouses....

Thanks a lot in advance..
