I just wanted to ask if a visitor to the UK on a temporary visa purchase a house here in the UK.

If you have enough cash to buy, you can.
If you think you can convince a bank to lend you money with a temporary visa, you sir/madam must let me in the secret.

I don't think it helps very much with settlement.

Not a good idea at all to purchase a property here in UK if you are not a permanent resident :wink:
