Should I apply for a ney resident permit???

Dear all,

I have a work visa here in Germany for 1 year as direction assistant. Last month, I got married with my husband who has a German nationality here in Germany.
The problem now is that I do not know if I should apply for a new resident permit for marriage or I should wait til my job visa finishes. My husband says that after our marriage, I get automatically the permit and I do not need to apply again but we are not sure if this is correct or not

Please help me to know and what should I do!

P.S: I hold a Moroccan passport.
