am a (non-EEA) that is going to propose to my (4 years) Girlfriend Portuguese national and wondering what is the process for getting married?
iv been reading around the forums and websites, from my understanding we each will need to give notice at our borough
but dont know what they need for a notice and as am a non-EEA is the process different?
here are the details:
-Am on a Student visa that will expire in 2014.
-She is a Student as well on her Portugese passport.
-Iv been in the UK since 2007(4 to 5 years now) with a student visa.
-Shes been living in the UK for 23 years+.
-We both live with our Parents for the time being but would like to move together in the near future.
- And she mentioned that she might apply for the UK passport soon(how soon i dont know as she told me this 4months ago
) will this effect the process if so how? and we would like to have the marriage and then just have a small wedding at home with family and friends. no need for priests or anything just small family gathering.
I know might be asking for too much but i would really appreciate your help.
