Married to an EEA citizen.. can I renew my Stamp 4??

Post by Angel592 » Fri Aug 12, 2011 2:30 pm

I'm on Stamp 4 now and should be applying for Stamp 5.. however I think I might just extend my Stamp 4 for now. I'm married to a British citizen, who lives in the UK.. I don't live with him in the UK, but I do go on visits to see him, I live in Dublin with my parents and Irish born siblings.. now it's time for me to renew my Irish residency and I was worried that maybe I would be ineligible to renew it because of my marriage to a UK national? Any ideas? Please help!

On what basis you have your stamp4 is it stamp4EUFAM you mean, as you are married to British citizen. But for you to extend your EUFAM stamp your spouse should be exercising his rights here in Ireland. If you have stamp4 on any other basis and think you can renew you might aswell (as i remember you posted here few months ago thinking of moving to UK for education). If so i suggest go ahead with your stamp4 because WCATT takes a little longer to issue.

I've got Stamp 4 because my parents have Stamp 4 (well Mom has WCATT now) because I've 3 Irish born siblings. My husband doesn't live in the UK so unfortunately I can't get Stamp 4 EU Fam. And yes you remembered right :) I think I will renew my Stamp 4 for now, but I'm just worried that they mightn't give it to me cuz I'm going to study in the UK? Thing is, I'll probably be down in Dublin every fortnight to see my parents anyway! I'm just scared that by getting Stamp 4 and studying in the UK might be against any regulations I don't know about? Any idea? Thank youu for replying by the way! :D
