ILR for Tier2(ICT)

Post by rahuldddd » Sat Aug 20, 2011 6:59 pm

Hi,
I am an indian national and is working on Tier2(ICT) in London. My VISA started on Sept 2009 and is expiring on Sept 2012. It seems that the stay in Tier2(ICT) doesn't count toward 5 Years of Permanent Residence(ILR - Indefinite Leave) after 5 April,2011. Is it true?

I am married to a Japanese and we were thinking of getting a permanent residece and staying in London. Not getting it going to be a big problem.

In my present job, I dont see myself getting fired for some time to come(fingers crossed). Should I apply for Tier2(general) so that my stay does counts toward 5Y of permanent residence(ILR)? If yes, how can I switch from Tier2(ICT) to Tier2(general)?

Also, if I switch from Tier2(ICT) to Tier2(general), will the time that I spent from Sept 2009 to April 2011 count towards 5Y of permanent residence

I am scared! please help.
