tier 1 extension advice

Hi,

Can you please give me your advice on my case:

work permit start date: 26 August 2008
tier 1 (general): 5 August 2009

* i can apply for ILR in August 2013, is this right?

I am planning to apply for tier 1 extension early in 2012: i am thinking maybe on Feb or March 2012. This will give extension to Feb or March 2014. This should give enough time to reach ILR. Do you think it is too early?

the reason i am doing this is that i am planning to change my job next year to a higher salary. so i wanted first to do the tier 1 extension while i am at the lower salary job so that when I apply for ILR i do not need to worry if could not have a job the high salary.
