EEA4 form enquiry

Hello guys,
I was wondering if someone could clarify paragraph 7.1 in EEA4 application form for me, please.
It states that I should put in the date and place of my first arrival in the UK.
Does it mean that I should put in the first time I EVER came to the UK ( on tourist visa) or I should put the time when I entered here on a long-term visa(prior to marrying EEA national I had been living in England for 2 years on student visa)?
I would really appreciate it if someone could explain this to me.

If, like me, you got married to your spouse while already in the UK then i'd suggest that you enter your date of marriage. This would have been the first day of residence as a family member of a EU national. I don't see how your first day of arrival under a tourist visa would be of any interest to the UKBA or benefit your application via the EU route.

But do wait for other opinions.

your first day of arrival in the UK is the date when you first entered in the UK (for long term basis more than 6 months) i.e. student/working/spouse visa.

Vistor/Tourist visa doesn't count.

I asked the same question from immigration advisor when i was applying for my RC 5 years ago. Hope it helps.

Given that using form EEA4 is optional and filling forms only partially cannot be the sole reason for refusal you could just leave it out. Whatever date it refers to, eventually, you will have to submit all relevant documents to support your claim.

Thank you everyone for your replies, I'll probably just put in
the date when I first came here on student visa as a bit worried that they might return the form if I leave it out blank.
Anyhow , all answers have been quite helpful and I'll try and update you guys on the progress.
