Help Needed ASAP!! Please

Post by WKSH » Thu Sep 08, 2011 2:34 pm

Hi

My Wife has been living with me in the UK on a Spouse Visa. It runs out Oct 4th. In July she had to go back to the US to be with a family member who has cancer. She is coming back in 2 days and she hasn't had time to study for the Life in the UK Test. We were thinking about applying for the FLR in person at Croydon. Is it likely we would be turned down? Or would are reason for applying be seen as a valid one. Please we need some advice here, we have 1000's of photos, bank statements and other proof that she has been living here with me. I even have the flight tickets to show when she left. Any advice would be great!

Thank you.

It's a valid reason. My husband applied for FLR(M) successfully, which gave him time to meet the KOL test requirement which was fairly new at the time. Once your wife passes the test she can apply for ILR immediately without waiting for the 2 year FLR extension to expire.

Thank you so much for your reply. One other thing are there any travail restrictions once she gets it? I mean if she needed to go back to the States for a couple of months would that be Ok?
