First British Passport Application : Birth Certificate

Post by sywahu » Thu Jun 22, 2006 11:39 pm

Hi,

For a first time british passport application for a foreign born naturalised applicant, do we need to send in the foreign birth certification?

Or would the passport and naturalisation certificate be enough?

The guide says that its required it seems and the advice line is VERY busy.

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

Many (perhaps most) naturalised Britons do not have the "passport on which they entered the UK" so this is an unrealistic request. More correspondence for Members of Parliament to deal with if the Passport Office are serious about this.

Birth certification is not required for naturalised applicants. Passport and naturalisation certifacte is all that is needed (and all that I provided with my recent application).

yep thats what happened at the post office! don't need it. they also don't need the "passport you entered on" although its mentioned in the application form.

when i told the lady at the post office she said "oh might as well send it"!

so she didn't know for sure.

but its gone now :)
