Confusion on time in uk

I am going to apply dependent visa for my would be in a months time..

I landed in uk on 16th july 2010.. and went back to India for 21 days in november 2010 ..
so if now I apply for tier 1 dependent for my would be in october -- have i lived more than 1 year in uk ?? or do they start counting it from the last entry >??
