Fiancee visa - evidence explanation needed........thanks

Post by csum » Tue Sep 20, 2011 9:16 pm

I am Chinese, and been UK 5 times since 2009. begining of this year, i apply 2 yrs visit visa to be with my friend. and during this period we decide to marry.

We been phone to local Register office, the officer said we no need apply Fiancee visa anymore since May of 2011, can get marry here directly after give notice 15 days as long as me hold valid passport.

Also we phone to Home office, the officer dont asnswer me any question related to immigration.

I also read the immigration law, which says not intent to marry in UK. but also no COA needed .

I will be back to China this week, we dont know what we can do. and totaly confused now.

if anyone could give me some advise, and tell me whether we can marry in UK with 2 years General visit visa.....

Thank you.

Yes, you can marry if you are in the UK now. After the marriage you can't remain in the UK and if you wish to live there you are required to leave and apply for settlement from China.

If you are outside the UK and wish to enter the UK to marry, you can't enter on your current long-term visit visa with the premeditated intention to marry. Instead, you are required to apply for a marriage visit visa.

Thank you very much Luca.

We decided to apply Fiancee visa after I back to China this week. and give up 2 yrs visit visa.........

we are now prepare for apply Fiancee visa. (i am Chinese, he is english)

A) my boyfriend have decree certificate. do we still need his declaration with solicitor for apply fiancee visa in China?

B) What evidence is required of 'intention to live together'-------- do we both need write statement to express we will live together or any official documents needed?

C) What evidence is required of marriage arrangements? ---- As we cannot give notice, and a booking at register office will not as evidence, anything we can do ? or is that our simple wedding plan draft will do?

thanks !!!
