FIANCE VISA-checklist pls help

Post by ZarinaLOK » Wed Oct 05, 2011 11:13 pm

Hi, I am applying for fiance visa and I am getting paranoid because of my previous visa refusal about whether I got everything right. Please, any advice would be deeply appreciated.

I used to study in the UK when I met my partner (UK citizen), we got engaged this summer. I was supposed to start studies in the UK this September, but because of my stupid negligance I misunderstood one statement regarding translation of docs and didn't gain 10points on 4tier, and it was 2 weeks before my course so too late to reapply.

Since I am already engaged to UK citizen (this is clearly stated in my prev applications) I decided to apply for fiance visa.
How exactly do they assess our finances? As I understand, unlike in 4 tier there is no set rules? We both submit our payslips, savings, statements etc. But what is their rule of thumb?

It says, we need to prove that we intend to get married within 6 months. How do we prove that? Is it enough to simply state it in cover letter? Also, how exactly can we reassure them that we intend to live together? And, if we haven't been married before to anyone, do we need to go to council and get some document saying we have no past marriages???

Also, it says they require evidence for finances etc. for whole period of relationship. I am in this relationship for over a year, but is it ok to submit bank statements for last 6 months only?

Also, what else you guys recommend to submit? I mean, shall I print out our phonelog, skype, holiday photos? Any type of advice would be greeaaatttly welcomed. The whole visa process seems to be very open-ended...they don't precisely say what they want.

Thanks
