Tier 1 VISA Ext. Payment Failed - One day left to expiry

Post by brianwoodward2011 » Sat Oct 15, 2011 3:41 pm

Anyone with good advice please help me.

I sent my TIER 1 VISA application in around 3 weeks ago and just received it backon Friday as the payment method failed (work credit card).

My VISA says "valid until 17th October" which is this Monday. At the moment I plan to simply courier it in this Monday the 17th with same day delivery so that atleast it gets back in on the day it expires. I am assuming that it actually expires on the 18th.

Is that OK? Does anyone have experience with this or know if that will be accepted or not?

Any help is really appreciated...!

Thanks in advance

Also I now need new savings documents..

Also looking into it further this now means that my savings document is more than 30 days prior to my next application date. So on Monday I now plan to go to the bank and get an adhoc letter printed on the banks stationery to prove my savings before sending the same day courier!

Little stress? I think so!

If the expiry date on the vignette is 17-Oct, then the visa expires at 23:59:59 on 17-Oct.

1. Do not courier it .... unless you are absolutely certain that it will be received by UKBA on 17-Oct. Don' think that will be possible if you are going to be busy in the bank in the first half of the day sorting out your bank statements. The date of application, when sent by courier, is the date it is received by UKBA.

2. Alternatively, use Royal Mail post - Special Delivery (before 9am or before 1pm). The date of application, when sent by post, is the date of posting. So even if your application is received by UKBA on 18-Oct. (or later), your application will still be valid. Keep proof of posting in safe possession!

Thank you for the excellent response. I think I will definitely post it in royal Mail special delivery. Now just hope the bank are nice on Monday and give me the letter verfying my savings.

Thanks again.. Brian
