I was going through the UKBA site the other day. I got bit confused with the British citizenship requirements. It says on lost of websites that you need to spend 1 year on ILR to be eligible for citizenship. On the UKBA site, it says that you must have been in the country from last 5 years to be eligible for citizenship. I am on Tier 1, and just sent my application for extension. My ILR is due in 2 years around in November 2013. Can i apply for the citizenship in one or two months just after getting my ILR or do i need to wait for one year?
Secondly, someone was telling me that i cannot remain out of the UK more than 90 days even after getting the citizenship (passport). Is that true? are there any changes expected in the citizenship during the term till i am eligible for the ILR?
Thank you.
