Setting a travel date

Hi,

What should we put for the travel date on VAF4a form?

We have read that we shouldn't plan to travel before three months from the application date, but now read that the visa will be issued from the date we write. If it takes less than three months, we then have to wait three months anyway. Is that right?

Is there any benefit to write an earlier date?
